Chitra Subramaniam, Ph. D, serves as the Assistant Dean and Director of the Duke office of Continuing Medical Education and the Assistant Director within the Center for Educational Excellence at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Serving in these roles, she oversees the design, development and delivery of continuing medical education.

Dr. Subramaniam obtained her doctoral degree in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of South Florida and has worked in several capacities in education and training in academic, corporate, government, publishing and non-for profit organizations. She has also completed a graduate program in Biomedical Informatics.

Her research interests include Instructional Design, Human Performance Improvement, Health Information Technology, and Educational Measurement and Evaluation. She has extensive consulting/work experience in traditional and online learning, curriculum development, instructional design, and many other facets of education.
